Privacy Policy

Overview

SoRead ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through the SoRead mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address and password (stored as a securely hashed value, never in plain text)
• A display name and preferred language, if you choose to set them

As you use the app, we collect:

• Usage activity, such as which chapters you view, complete, or bookmark, and your reading streaks, used to operate core app features and to understand how the app is used
• Subscription and purchase status from Apple's App Store, via our payments provider, RevenueCat, used to unlock the features you've paid for
• A push notification token, if you enable notifications, used only to deliver notifications to your device

Third parties we work with

We use a small number of service providers to operate SoRead. Each only receives the data needed to perform its function, and none are permitted to use your data for their own advertising purposes:

• PostHog: product analytics, to understand how the app is used and improve it
• RevenueCat: subscription and purchase management
• Apple: payment processing for subscriptions; we never see or store your payment card details

Your choices

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently removes your account, saved content, streaks, and preferences from our systems. Note that deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription. You'll need to cancel that separately through your Apple ID subscription settings, the same place you manage any App Store subscription.

Children's privacy

SoRead is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
